Special Legal Consultant
Firm providing consulting
and legal services seeks Special Legal Consultant to support the firm's expanding national and international consulting business,
devoted to support agri-business, fisheries, apparel and textile associations and their International Trade issues and related
legal matters. Professional must draw up legal documents, and manage and/or advise clients on legal transactions, interpret
laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses particularly under the scope of the international legal frame
applicable to international trade. Assist in the design of legislative strategies, draft proposed legislative provisions,
present testimony to congressional and executive trade committees, and develop strategies with domestic constituencies in
support of various initiatives concerning trade issues in the U.S. Congress and Administration. Analyze the probable
outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents. Examine legal data to determine advisability, and have a considerable
experience with Free Trade Agreements; WTO regulations, immigration, and public policy. Familiarity with laws and regulations
affecting business and commercial contracts. Knowledge of Export Trading Company Act of 1982 applicable in the context of
agro industries and free trade agreements is desirable. Supervise paralegals and outsourcings in legal fields. Position
requires a L.LM (Master's degree) or equivalent in legal studies or related fields, or in a discipline directly related to
the field of legal practice. Min of 3.5 yrs of experience in job offered or related field, or equivalent. SLC membership
with DC Bar necessary. In the alt. employer will accept applicants with any suitable combo of edu. training or experience.
